Please do not look to this talk for medical advice. This talk represents the speaker's personal views and understanding of exercise, BDNF and pain, which remains an ongoing field of study. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here
In a world of increasing complexity but decreasing free time, the role of the trusted ‘explainer’ has never been more important. Charles Duhigg is a literal prizewinner in the field and won the Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for his team’s series of articles in the New York Times explaining the (not always wonderful) impact of Apple and big tech on the global economy. He’s also the author of the massive bestseller, The Power of Habit.
Why do seemingly intelligent people procrastinate? Are there really hidden patterns and belief systems within us that conspire against our best intentions? In this talk, human behaviour expert, Peter Sage, exposes some of the hidden reasons and unconscious patterns that cause us to self-sabotage and explains what we can do to change them.
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. After having heard several stories about the older generation missing the freedom, the joy and the mobility of cycling, Ole asked himself: "How can we get these people back on the bicycles?" Ole decided to show up at his local nursing home with a rented rickshaw. This changed his life - and the lives of the passengers and the volunteers who came across Ole and his project, "Cycling Without Age"
